Jeong Kyung-eun raised a suspicion of fraudulent examination on the Blue House National Petition Bulletin Board, saying that there are some uncomfortable aspects related to the fact that a former badminton national player (31, Kimcheon City Hall) was eliminated from the 2021 national team selection.

Jung is a global athlete who won the bronze medal in women’s doubles at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. He won the Danish Open in 2019 and is currently ranked 10th in the women’s doubles world rankings along with Hana Baek (21, MG Saemaul Geumgo).

However, Jung participated in the national team qualification held in Muju, Jeollabuk-do on the 18th and 23rd, but lost the Taegeuk mark. Jung and Baek had to be in the top 5 in the selection to maintain their national qualifications, but Jung was eliminated after being pushed out of the 5th place. On the other hand, Baek kept the Taegeuk mark by passing third in the selection.

On the 29th, Jung previously posted a petition on the Blue House National Petition Bulletin entitled’Please clarify the suspicion of the 2021 national badminton player selection screening’.

He said, “There have been many large and small corruptions and accidents in the sports world, but I didn’t know that I would be a victim.” I couldn’t even imagine that things would become reality.”

“Half of the judges are the leaders of the participating athletes team”

Jung pointed out that he was biased from the composition of the selection judges. Jung explained that half of the judges were the teams that the players who participated in the selection were on. He claimed that the judge’s score was manipulated so that the player on his team could get a favorable score. Doubles are ranked by adding 50% of the results of the league match and 50% of the judges’ evaluation.

According to the Korea Badminton Association, Jung scored a tie for 7th in the league match, and a player with a lower league match score than Jung received a higher score in the judge’s evaluation and was included in the final 5th place.

“Three of the six judges were the leaders of the players who participated in the selection,” he said. “It was an unconvincing selection system in which three judges judge their team players with their own hands.”

“Even if the win rate is high, it is possible to negate and manipulate as much as possible with the evaluation score,” he criticized. “It is a dark selection system in which players have to make a selection without knowing the selection criteria other than their own win rate.”

“It exactly matches the rumors before the final announcement of the list”

Jung said, “I heard inappropriate remarks such as a certain player being mentioned by a judge who was in the middle of the competition,” and “the rumors spread rapidly with remarks as if the selection of a specific team player was already decided.”

Jung said, “I heard that the list of players selected from the parent player came out on the 24th before the association’s official announcement.” “The final list announced on the 26th and the list heard from the parent player match without error. I criticized it.

Jung said, “We have prepared an institutional rule for the composition of the judges, so I plead that there are no more players who suffer damage,” and said, “I beg you to give me a chance again, who was unfairly eliminated through a thorough investigation.”

He also requested that “the judges who caused controversy through inappropriate remarks should be disciplined and transparently disclosed to the evaluation items, detailed scoring criteria, judge qualification requirements, and the list of judges for the right to know of the players participating in the selection.”
