Tesla Korea announced on the 12th that it will officially launch the midsize SUV Model Y in Korea and start accepting orders.

Tesla Model Y is known as the entry-level version of the high-end SUV Model X. In Korea, a total of three trims are introduced, from the standard range trim, which is the basic model, to the long range and performance trim.

Model Y’s driving range is the highest in the industry at a maximum of 511km (based on Long Range), and the time from standstill to 100km/h per hour is only 3.7 seconds (based on performance), and the top speed is 250km/h (based on performance). Reaches.

Model Y, which has the best loading space among SUVs in its class, can be configured with a 5-seater or 7-seater seat, and a 7-seater option will be released later in Korea.

Similar to the simple and clean interior of the Model 3, Model Y’s interior gives you access to all the vehicle’s features from a 15-inch touchscreen, the elevated seats and lower dashboard for wider visibility of the road ahead, and the extended all-glass roof provides a perfect sky. It provides a sense of view and openness.

Tesla Korea expressed confidence in the safety of Model Y. Model Y showed the lowest rollover probability of 7.9% among all SUVs tested by NHTSA, and obtained a five-star safety rating in all items of the 2021 vehicle safety test conducted by NHTSA.

Model Y vehicles can be found at Tesla Stores in Cheongdam and Hanam, Tesla Centers in Bundang and Busan, and Yeongdeungpo at Tesla Gallery Lotte Department Store. All stores other than the Hanam Tesla Store, which open today, on the day of Lunar New Year, will be open from the 13th.

The sales price for each trim ranges from KRW 59,999 for the standard range, KRW 6,999 for the long range, and KRW 7999 for the performance, and can be ordered online through the Tesla website. The basic price of 59,999 million won is interpreted as considering less than 60 million won without subsidy cuts. The full-option model is also evaluated as an aggressive price point to receive subsidies.

The 2021 Model 3, which was released together, features a more comfortable interior and improved driving range through a combination of the changed interior design and advanced technology.

The 2021 Model 3 will be exhibited on the 13th at Tesla Gallery, Lotte Department Store, Yeongdeungpo. The sales price for each trim starts at KRW 54.79 million for the Standard Range Plus, KRW 53,999 for the Long Range, and KRW 74.79 million for the Performance, and can be ordered online through the Tesla website.

Meanwhile, Tesla Korea is constantly striving to expand its own charging and service infrastructure. Supercharger stations are scheduled to be installed in 27 locations across the country within the year, and in the first half of the year, we are preparing to release the CCS1 charging adapter that can be used at public fast charging stations.

In the case of service centers, up to eight service centers are planned to be expanded nationwide in the first half of this year, including Seongsu, Daegu, Gwangju, and Jeju. Among them, Tesla centers, which combine store and service centers, will be opened in some areas, including Daegu. In addition, Tesla Korea is planning to launch an official Tesla Shop that sells vehicle accessories, parts, rechargeable products, and clothing earlier this month.
