Tesla Korea announced on the 12th that it will officially launch the midsize electric SUV’Model Y’in Korea and start accepting orders.

In particular, Tesla set the selling price of the standard range, which is a basic trim, at 59.99 million won, allowing full subsidies to be provided.

Model Y is the safest mid-sized electric SUV in its class with the fastest speed and performance. In Korea, a total of three trims are introduced, from the standard range trim, which is the basic model, to the long range and performance trim.

The maximum driving distance is 511km (based on the long range), which is the highest in the industry. The time from standstill to 100 km/h per hour is only 3.7 seconds (based on performance), and the top speed is 250 km/h.

With the best loading space among SUVs in its class, Model Y can be configured with a 5- or 7-seater seat. The 7-seater option is expected to be released later in Korea.

With a simple and clean interior, Model Y provides access to all vehicle functions from a 15-inch touchscreen. Elevated seats and lower dashboards provide a wider view of the road ahead, and the extended all-glass roof provides perfect sky view and a sense of openness.

The safety is also excellent.

Model Y recorded the lowest rollover probability of 7.9% of all SUVs tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It achieved 5 star safety ratings in all categories and subcategories of the 2021 Vehicle Safety Test conducted by NHTSA.
