Tesla Korea announced on the 12th that it will officially launch the medium-sized electric SUV’Model Y’in Korea and start accepting orders.

After the government reorganized the subsidy policy for eco-friendly cars this year, it attracted attention to what level Tesla will set the domestic price of the Model Y.

Tesla’s Model Y’s Standard Range, Model 3’s Standard Range Plus, and Long Range are set to less than 60 million won, allowing them to receive full government subsidies.

Tesla’s’Model Y’introduces three basic models in Korea: Standard Range trim, Long Range, and Performance trim.

Model Y’s driving range is up to 511km (based on Long Range), which is the highest in the industry. The time from stop to 100 km/h per hour is 3.7 seconds (based on performance). The top speed reaches 250km/h (based on performance).

Tesla explained that the Model Y’s load space is among the best in its class. Model Y is available in a 5-seater or 7-seater seat configuration. The 7-seater option is expected to be released later in Korea.

The Model Y has a 15-inch touchscreen that gives you access to all the vehicle’s functions. By raising the seat and lowering the dashboard, you can see a wider and more comfortable view of the road ahead. An extended full glass roof is added to provide a sense of openness.

Efforts were also made to ensure safety. Model Y recorded the lowest rollover probability of 7.9% of all SUVs tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It achieved 5 star safety ratings in all categories and subcategories of the 2021 Vehicle Safety Test conducted by NHTSA.

Model Y vehicles can be found at Tesla Stores in Cheongdam and Hanam, Tesla Centers in Bundang and Busan, and Tesla Gallery Lotte Department Store Yeongdeungpo.

The sales price of each trim starts from △Standard Range from 5999 million won △Long Range from 6999 million won △Performance from 7999 million won.

The 2021 model’Model 3′, which was released together, attempted to harmonize the changed interior design and advanced technology. The Model 3 was the most popular electric passenger car in Korea with 11,03 sold last year.

The 2021 Model 3 has a range of driving range while making the interior space more comfortable.

The 2021 Model 3 will be exhibited at Tesla Gallery Lotte Department Store Yeongdeungpo starting on the 13th. The sales price of each trim starts from △Standard Range Plus from 54.79 million won △Long Range from 5999 million won △Performance from 74.79 million won.

Tesla Korea will add independent charging support and service infrastructure expansion. It plans to install supercharger stations in 27 locations across the country this year, and is preparing to release the CCS1 charging adapter that can be used at public fast charging stations in the first half of the year.

In the first half of this year, up to eight service centers will be expanded nationwide, including Seongsu, Daegu, Gwangju, and Jeju. Among them, Tesla Center, which combines a store and service center, will be opened in some areas, including Daegu.

In addition, it increased customer convenience by launching an official Tesla shop that sells vehicle accessories, parts, charging products, and clothing earlier this month.

Model Y and Model 3 can be ordered online through the Tesla website. Hanam Tesla Store is also open on Lunar New Year’s Day. Other stores will be open from the 13th.
