[아시아경제 이창환 기자] Tesla Korea announced on the 13th that it will officially launch Model Y in Korea and start accepting orders.

Model Y, a mid-sized electric SUV (sports utility car), is released in three models: standard range, long range, and performance, which are basic models.

The standard range is priced at 59.99 million won, so it is possible to receive full government subsidies. 50% of the subsidy will be provided for the long range from 6999 million won and the performance from 7999 million won.

Starting this year, the government has proposed a reorganization plan that provides full subsidies for electric vehicles under 60 million won, 50% for 60 million to 90 million won, and no subsidy for high-priced electric vehicles over 90 million won. Accordingly, high-priced electric vehicles such as the Tesla Model S will lose subsidies.

In the case of the Tesla Model Y Standard Range, which costs less than 60 million won, 100% of the subsidy (up to 8 million won) will be paid, and a discount of more than 10 million won is expected when adding local government subsidies.

The Tesla Model Y can travel up to 511 km (long range). Based on the performance trim (class), the time from stop to 100 km/h is 3.7 seconds and the maximum speed is 250 km/h.

Model Y is available in a 5-seater or 7-seater seat configuration. The 7-seater option is expected to be released later in Korea.

Model Y vehicles can be found at Tesla Stores in Cheongdam and Hanam, Tesla Centers in Bundang and Busan, and Tesla Gallery Lotte Department Store in Yeongdeungpo.
