The 63rd Grammy Awards was held in Los Angeles, USA on the 14th (U.S. local time). Group BTS (BTS) was nominated for the’Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category, but did not receive the award. However, BTS was the first Korean singer to show a solo performance at the Grammy Awards and received great response.
As it was an awards ceremony that attracted attention on whether or not to win the BTS, the post-storm still persists after a day.
In the’Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category where BTS was nominated, Lady GaGa and Ariana Grande’s’Rain On Me’ were the final winners. However,’I don’t like’ is pouring into the music video and comments are being criticized.
The number of’I dislike’ in the official music video for’Rain on Me’ reached 300,000 as of the 16th. After the Grammy announcement, tens of thousands of ‘dislikes’ were concentrated in a day.
In the video comments, criticisms such as “BTS should have received a Grammy”, “I hate Grammy now”, and “I hate this song” were poured out. On the other hand, comments such as “‘I don’t like’ are increasing suddenly”, “Now stop”, “Even though BTS didn’t get a Grammy, they’re still BTS, so stop”, and so on, it became a place of conflict.
Although it was not awarded the final award, it is also evaluated that BTS performed alone at the Grammy Awards and was nominated for a great achievement.
BTS also said through the agency’s official position, “After being nominated for Grammy, it is an honor to unfold the desired solo performance. All thanks to ARMYs. We will continue to move toward our next goal.”
Meanwhile, Billie Eilish’s’Everything I Wanted’ was selected as the’Record of the Year’ at the 63rd Grammy Awards. Taylor Swift’s’Folklore’ won the’Album of the Year’, and HER’s’I Can’t Breathe’ was selected as’Song of the Year’. The’Best New Artist’ was awarded by Megan Thee Stallion. It is a peculiarity that all of the major Grammy awards were won by female artists.
