Ten professional baseball teams will start spring camp from February 1st, preparing for the 2021 season in earnest.

This year, in the aftermath of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), all clubs are holding spring camps in Korea.

SK Wyverns, whose owner has changed suddenly, is holding a camp at the Gangchanghak Baseball Stadium in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. Shinsegae Group E-Mart, which acquired SK baseball team, plans to officially launch in March, so the camp will be held under the existing club name.

NC Dinos, who became the Unified Champion in the 2020 season, will hold a camp at Changwon NC Park, Masan Stadium, and the auxiliary ballpark in Masan Baseball Center, and Hanwha Eagles, led by a foreign coach for the first time in the club’s history, at the sub-field of the sports town in Geoje, Gyeongnam.

KT Wiz is preparing for the 2021 season at Busan’s Gijang-Hyundai Motor Dream Ball Park. KIA Tigers, Lotte Giants, and Samsung Lions use the District 1 stadium, while Doosan Bears and LG Twins use District 2 facilities.

Kiwoom Heroes, the only one using the dome stadium as their home, has no worries about the weather. At Gocheok Sky Dome, both groups 1 and 2 will be training.

Each club focuses on basic physical strength and technical training at the beginning of the February camp. After that, we plan to check our performance through practice matches with other clubs.

The timing of the joining of foreign players emerged as a variable for clubs near the start of the camp. This is because entry procedures such as visa issues are getting longer due to Corona 19. The season starts later than usual, but if camp joining is delayed, preparation may be disrupted.

Hanwha is the only club where all foreign players camp together from the start. Hanwha’s Lion Healy, Ryan Carpenter, Nick Kingham, etc. arrived early and joined the camp normally.

All foreign players such as Samsung, KIA, and Lotte have entered Korea. They can start camp once they are released from self-isolation.

Some teams have not yet entered the country with foreign players. NC, LG, Doosan, KT, and SK are still waiting for some players to enter the country. Kiwoom has not yet finished recruiting foreign batters.

All three foreign players were scheduled to enter the country on the 30th. However, only Walker Rocket entered Korea, and Ariel Miranda arrives on the 31st due to personal circumstances. José Miguel Fernandez supplements the documents and will arrive soon.
