A system has been established that allows taxpayers to participate online and in real time in the process of checking whether the tax audit is in compliance with the procedure.

The National Tax Service announced on the 12th that it has opened a smart monitoring system for tax audits on the 4th.

When the tax investigation begins, the taxpayer protection officer at each regional office and tax office conducts a total of four surveys by phone calls and site visits to see if the investigation officials comply with the legal procedures according to the initiation, progress, and termination stages.

However, it was pointed out that the phone or on-site survey was less convenient for taxpayers.

Accordingly, the National Tax Service opened a smart monitoring system for tax audits at the beginning of this year that allows users to participate in surveys with Hometax (www.hometax.go.kr) and mobile hometax application, that is, Sontax, in a non-face-to-face online method using a PC or mobile.

You can use it by logging in to Hometax or Sontax when you receive a letter confirming compliance with the tax inspection procedure from the National Tax Service and leave a comment.

The category access paths are’application/submission’,’taxpayer protection civil petition’, and’confirmation of compliance with tax audit procedures’.

You can also fill out the form and submit it by mail.

The National Tax Service expects that the smart monitoring of tax audits will help to quickly protect the rights and interests of taxpayers as it can check and correct taxpayers’ complaints in real time.

The National Tax Service also established the’Taxpayers’ Rights 24′ website (www.nts.go.kr/taxpayer_advocate/main.do) that can check the rights and interests protection information necessary for taxpayers in one place, and has been operating from the 1st of this month.

Taxpayer Rights and Interests24 The web contains information on taxpayer rights protection that has been previously provided through various channels, and provides integrated civil petitions such as rights protection requests.
