The details of the contract for Fernando Tatis Jr. (23, San Diego) have been revealed.
The San Diego club officially announced a 14-year long-term contract with Tatis Jr. on the 23rd (Korean time).
The total amount is $340 million (approximately 378 billion won) and will be applied until 2034. In the first few years, the salary is small, but it is structured to increase as time passes.
According to MLB.com Mark Pinesand, Tatis Jr. earns $1 million in 2021 annual salary. It will receive $5 million in 2022, $7 million in 2023, and $11 million in 2024.
From 2025, the annual salary is expected to jump significantly and receive 20 million dollars over two years. The two years from 2027 will receive 25 million dollars, and the remaining six years from 2029 will receive 36 million dollars annually.
The down payment is $10 million and includes a veto clause for trade against the entire club.
