System/AI semiconductor/bio personnel to be raised 23,000

[뉴스토마토 정성욱 기자] The government will invest about 240 billion won this year with the aim of fostering 23,000 industrial innovation talents such as systems, artificial intelligence semiconductors, and future cars. In connection with the university curriculum, the company plans to focus on nurturing master’s and doctoral level personnel for each new industry.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 20th that it will invest a total of 24442 billion won this year to foster industrial innovation talents in four fields. This is a 46% increase in budget compared to last year. The Ministry of Industry’s policy stance that nurturing core talents is essential to advance to a leading industrial structure such as fostering new industries and digital transformation of the manufacturing industry.

First, the government will invest 49.95 billion won, an increase of 57% from last year, in BIG 3 new industries such as system and artificial intelligence semiconductor, bio, and future cars.

In the field of systems and artificial intelligence semiconductors, where the demand for manpower is increasing, 8.34 billion won is invested in nurturing professional manpower at the master’s and doctoral level. In addition, a new master’s/doctoral curriculum in the field of system semiconductor design will be established at 5.94 billion won, and 2.4 billion won will be invested in the power semiconductor field, which depends on more than 90% of income, to cultivate master’s and doctoral level personnel.

For undergraduate students, a recruitment-linked contract department is newly established, focusing on training talent based on corporate demand. A new recruitment-linked contract department in Yonsei University, Korea University, and Sungkyunkwan University, where semiconductor companies support full scholarships, internships, practical training, and employment, is also planning to raise 150 bachelor’s personnel per year.

The bio field, which is showing high growth on the occasion of Corona 19, supports 7.6 billion won, more than doubled from the previous year. In the case of bio-convergence industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, data-based diagnostics, and white bio, the master’s and doctoral education courses will be newly established with a scale of 1.49 billion won. In addition, short-term education for job seekers using GMP (manufacturing and quality standards for excellent bio products) manufacturing facilities for production and quality management and training of research and development personnel will be expanded from 3,220 million won to 5.96 billion won.

The future car sector is investing 10.59 billion won, an increase of 75% from the previous year. In the case of the eco-friendly car parts industry, a new master’s and doctoral education course will be established by investing 1.6 billion won, and the development of master’s and doctoral level manpower in the autonomous driving software sector will be continuously supported at a scale of 6 billion won.

In order to innovate the flagship industry, it will invest 10.28 billion won this year, and an additional 86.3% of the budget compared to last year (53.8 billion won).

The digital new deal sector supports 71.3 billion won, an increase of 100.3% compared to the previous year (35.54 billion won). Through this, we will cultivate talented people who will lead the digital new deal, such as digital transformation of manufacturing industry, convergence of DNA (data, network, artificial intelligence) of flagship industries, and expansion of smart industrial complexes.

To promote digital transformation in the manufacturing industry, a new executive-level artificial intelligence (AI) training program will be established in the enterprise It plans to educate 500 people with a scale of 1.5 billion won. In addition, in the case of technical personnel who will implement digital transformation, an industry-AI convergence education course for 1,250 people in five industries will be newly established for 5 billion won.

In the DNA field, a total of 29.88 billion won is invested in 12 fields, including the establishment of’AI, robots, human and machine collaboration’ and’data analysis-based electronic manufacturing’ master’s and doctoral courses.

In the case of the smart industrial complex, it is planning to expand specialized industry education from 14.7 billion won to 35 billion won through universities within the industrial complex to produce 2070 talented individuals specialized in local industries each year.

In addition, it will provide 28.9 billion won in materials, parts, and equipment, which are the basis of the manufacturing industry, up 60% from the previous year. It is planning to cultivate 1,100 working people a year by newly establishing training for reinforcing technical capabilities for incumbent and retirees.

In addition, it will invest 45.58 billion won, focusing on the new energy industry, to foster professionals in the energy field such as the Green New Deal and carbon neutrality.
