At the National Assembly plenary session prepared to check the quarantine situation related to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), the vaccine probation situation, and the timing of vaccination, opinions conflicted between the opposition party and the government and ruling parties over the success or failure of K quarantine.

In the’Questions about the current status of quarantine caused by Corona 19, the situation of vaccine supply, and the timing of vaccination,’ held at the plenary session of the National Assembly on the 8th, Rep. Kang Ki-yoon, the government’s response to Corona 19, was defined as a failure. And revealed four reasons. Rep. Kang said, “The first is the failure of early quarantine in Wuhan, China, the second is the failure of early vaccine introduction, the third is the failure to quarantine the mutant virus, and the fourth is the failure of quarantine at the Eastern detention center.”

Next, he asked Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, “The end of quarantine is not K quarantine, but vaccine,” and “What did other countries do when we entered the war to secure 7-8 times the amount of vaccines (of the people)?”

Prime Minister Chung replied, “Our strategy is to secure the necessary amount in time,” and “We believe that if the current amount of 56 million people secured is more than adequate, it is not a small amount.”

When Rep. Kang asked again, “Why did other countries secure 7-8 times?” Prime Minister Chung said, “You have to go to that country and ask,” “Vaccines are bought with national taxes, and they are not free. What is so important to another country? There is no reason to buy 5 to 6 times the quantity.”

Rep. Kang insisted that the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the Blue House should take responsibility for the delay in the introduction of the vaccine, but Prime Minister Chung said, “We do not agree, it does not matter when the vaccine was introduced, and it is meaningless if the actual vaccination is not delivered quickly.” Replied.

The opposition party continued to point out a group infection in the eastern detention center in Seoul. Rep. Kang said, “You can’t buy a mask in the eastern detention center,” he said. “There are many people who think that K in K-defense, who thoroughly ignores the voice of the people, is’Kill’, which means death.”

Prime Minister Chung said, “I admitted to the lack of the government and apologized for this matter. I think we should report necessary measures so that the same thing does not recur, cover any disputes, and ask if there is any legal responsibility.”

Since then, every query of opposition lawmakers has followed up with Prime Minister Chung. When Rep. Kim Mi-ae pointed out the government policy related to securing vaccines and said, “(The government) is dying, the people are dying.” “Who is the right throne king?” When Congressman Kim replied, “The people see it that way,” Prime Minister Chung said, “I couldn’t hear the people’s words. Some people say that it is the king of right thrones, however.”

Rep. Lee Jong-seong said, “President Moon Jae-in is passing over (vaccine-related responsibility) to the person in charge.” Prime Minister Jung said with a firm expression, “The President’s vaccination-related orders, in some cases, proactively stepped forward to become a foreign chief executive officer ( It is also true that I spoke to the CEO). “But the expression that the president handed over this is not appropriate.”

The ruling Democratic Party lawmakers also refuted the opposition’s attack. Rep. Kwon Chil-seung of the Democratic Party, who has the order of inquiry after Kang, asked Prime Minister Chung, “Is it possible to have successful quarantine based on transparency and scientific grounds,” and “I do not understand the claim that K quarantine is a failure.”

In response, Prime Minister Jung said, “In comparison with the international community, we can get an evaluation that the Republic of Korea is doing well. All of the public officials are working hard with the determination to reflect and do their best to ensure that nothing is wrong in the future.”

Regarding the opposition’s criticism that it should have secured 7 to 8 times the quantity, the Democratic Party member Kang Hospital also refuted that “(the opposition party) is only talking about the results.” Rep. Kang Hospital asked, “What would the National Assembly look like if we had asked a pharmaceutical company to invest trillions of dollars in advance as in the US?” Prime Minister Jung replied, “In a little more common terms, I would have judged it like this.”

Rep. Kang then asked, “If Korea had said that it had so many vaccines, would it have been approved by the National Assembly?” and Prime Minister Chung said, “I think there will be no beginning.”
