The Korea Communications Commission announced that it will check the actual condition of the OTT service wave where video playback errors have occurred, such as inserting adult movie scenes into the children’s animation Pororo video.
Earlier, on the 29th of last month, while Wave was providing content services for children, an error occurred in which an adult scene appeared. In addition, from the 27th, access to some content and related channels such as terrestrial entertainment programs has continued. Wave said it was a technical error and apologized.
The Korea Communications Commission said, “‘Wave’ is currently a value-added communication service provider under the Telecommunications Business Act, and the Korea Communications Commission is planning to inspect overall user protection-related matters, such as handling user inconveniences and complaints of’Wave’ related to this issue, and measures to prevent user damage.” Revealed.
The Korea Communications Commission said, “In addition,’Wave’ is a business that requires a juvenile protection officer to be designated under the Information and Communication Network Act, and plans to check matters related to juvenile protection measures.”

Wave said in a notice on the 30th of last month, “In the process of recovering the file, a serious technical error was discovered that mixed adult content for several seconds while playing the contents of the’Pororo Theatrical’, so we immediately deleted it. I apologize deeply with my head down. I will do my best to prevent similar cases from recurring.” Wave then restricted the exposure of all adult movies in the service.
