The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Sung Yun-mo) announced on February 23 that it had confirmed the “4th Basic Plan for Eco-friendly Vehicles (2021~2025)” through a State Council meeting presided over by Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun.
The 4th Basic Plan for Eco-Friendly Vehicles is a basic plan established and implemented by the Ministry of Industry every five years to promote the spread of eco-friendly vehicles and enhance competitiveness in the automobile industry in accordance with the’Act on the Promotion of Development and Distribution of Environmentally Friendly Vehicles’. During the 3rd basic plan period (’16~’20), the supply and export of eco-friendly vehicles continued to increase. Under these circumstances, the vision of the 4th Basic Plan was set as “21st year of popularization of eco-friendly cars” and “25 years of eco-friendly car-centered social and industrial ecosystem establishment”, and △building a social system that accelerates the spread of eco-friendly cars, △technology Through innovation, pioneering the carbon-neutral era and accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral industrial ecosystem were derived as three strategies.
