This is because it is judged that it is necessary to tighten speculation and pull the rein of real estate regulations in the wake of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) crisis. As LH employees are killing their lives one after another, attention is paid to what follow-up measures the government will come up with and how to implement them.

This is the first time that Prime Minister Chung has held an LH-related ministerial meeting on a holiday. A government official said, “The prime minister will discuss the extraordinary measures mentioned in the briefing,” he said. “The results of the investigation will be announced later, and the meeting on the 14th will focus on discussing measures to prevent recurrence.”

Prior to this, Prime Minister Chung announced the results of the first LH speculation investigation at the joint briefing room of the Seoul Government Complex on the 11th, saying, “We have devised a special plan to strict against illegal and unfair activities committed in the real estate market such as false sales, planned real estate, and Tadabang. I will execute it.”

Prime Minister Chung said, “The people are now asking whether the housing supply is being carried out in a fair and just manner. According to the results of the first survey, 20 LH employees were identified as suspected of speculation. They purchased land in all directions in Siheung Gwangmyeong, Changneung Goyang, Wangsuk Namyangju, Gwacheon Gwacheon, and Hanamgyosan districts. LH employees used a technique of buying land in collaboration with their acquaintances. In the case of Guarim-dong, Siheung-si, 22 people, including 4 LH employees, purchased land in one lot.

It is noteworthy whether the situation where LH employees die one after another will be discussed at the meeting on the 14th. Earlier, a professional member of the LH headquarters headquarters (56, former Jeonbuk headquarters) died on the 12th at his home in Bundang, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. On the 13th, an executive of LH’s Paju business headquarters (58) was found dead in a container in Paju.
