[세계비즈=김진희 기자] Naver reinforced the web search function in the direction of displaying high-quality homepages first.
According to Naver on the 21st, the website search ranking algorithm was updated on the 18th.
In the future, in Naver Web search, sites that provide official information, web documents that are structured well, documents from websites that link appropriately and correctly to important pages within the site, and documents of good quality will be more exposed to search results than before. The possibility was increased.
‘Ranking Algorithm’ refers to a procedure and method for determining the ranking of web documents that should be exposed to queries entered by users in the search box.
The search exposure ranking factor referred to by this algorithm is called a’ranking signal’, which includes the characteristics of the query input by the user, the content and quality of the web document, and the characteristics of the site corresponding to the source of the web document. There are hundreds of ranking signals referenced by the ranking algorithm.
Naver is changing the ranking algorithm and ranking signal from time to time, but this time, it has made a major update named’Solid Project’.
Naver said about the Solid project, “Technically, the purpose is to create a more robust collection, index, ranking, and exposure algorithm, and servicely, the purpose is to expose suitable documents of higher quality in search results.”
This project has taken more ranking signals into account than before. Documents containing similar words were also searched well, and the title and description of the search results were changed to be more readable. Documents that need to be collected more often are collected first, and improved to process more queries quickly.
Naver previously made major updates to the web search service through a separately named project.
In the’Taurin Project’, a ranking system that shows more diverse and reliable web documents was introduced, and a web document search function using the latest technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) was applied through the’Griffin Project’.
