[아시아경제 영남취재본부 김용우 기자] Pukyong National University (President Young-Soo Jang) broadcasted this year’s freshman OT event live on YouTube and held it both online and offline.

On the afternoon of the 26th, Pukyong National University held the ‘2021 Newbie Culture Festival’ with 90 freshmen attending at the university theater.

As Pukyong National University canceled events such as OT for freshmen due to the spread of Corona 19 last year, the number of attendees was minimized this year and only some of the freshmen participated in the field through a lottery.

The event was conducted in an online/offline manner that was broadcast live on YouTube.

In particular, at the event this year, a sequence of new students and parents to communicate and exchange with field participants such as President Jang Young-soo through a video conference program was well received.

Following this, events such as academic calendar, scholarship system, internationalization program, etc. were held, including guidance on college life for freshmen, introduction of student councils, talent show for freshmen, introduction of club associations and club performances.

President Young-Soo Jang said to the freshmen, “I sincerely congratulate and welcome you who are new to Pukyong National University. “Let’s go forward with all our sincerity and earnestly pursuing each individual’s dream.”

This year, Pukyong National University has 706 humanities and social sciences, 279 natural sciences, 262 business schools, 1432 engineering colleges, 359 colleges of fisheries science, 295 environmental and marine colleges, 161 future convergence colleges, and department of global majors. A total of 3523 people, including 29, were admitted.
