[아시아경제 권재희 기자] On the 3rd (local time), Bloomberg News reported that a prototype of’Starship’, a spacecraft for migration to Mars, being developed by SpaceX, a private space exploration company led by Elon Musk, exploded again shortly after landing.

This is the third time in a row that the Starship prototype exploded during the test launch process.

Reportedly, at 5:15 pm (local time) that day, the starship prototype’SN10′, launched from the Boca Chica launch site in Texas, USA, landed safely and exploded in flames.

The SN10 flew to an altitude of 10 km and landed successfully, but exploded a few minutes later as flames erupted from below. SpaceX broadcast the test launch live online.

Previously, SpaceX tested its Starship prototypes on December 9 last year and 3rd last month, but all exploded during landing.

“This prototype is a successful landing, showing some progress,” Bloomberg said.

SpaceX will carry up to 12 people to the Moon in two years, and the final goal is to send an expedition to Mars.

Starship, which will reach 120 meters in length, will carry 100 humans and 100 tons of cargo to and from the Moon and Mars.
