Sony Interactive Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as SIE) has unveiled a new controller that will be used in next-generation VR for PS5 through its PlayStation blog. Unlike the previous PS Move, which was a simple stick shape, the new controller is a hot topic because its unique design that wraps around the hand is revealed.

In this regard, Hideki Nishino, senior vice president of platform planning & management, said, “The new VR controller aims to have a deeper sense of reality and a strong immersion in VR.” It is to introduce a new sense of play to VR gaming.”
Earlier, DualSense has been highly evaluated by users for its delicate haptic feedback function that stimulates the sense of sight, hearing, and touch.

In addition to the haptic feedback function, the new VR controller adopted the adaptive trigger technology that was introduced through DualSense. In addition, it is characterized by being able to detect the location of the user’s thumb, index and middle fingers without pressing the controller button. In the case of the button configuration, analog sticks, grips, and trigger buttons are arranged equally on both hand controllers, and a triangle, a square, a make button on the left, and an X-circle option button are arranged on the right.
The design form took the form of a’gu’ that you can naturally hold in your hand. It is explained that it was balanced by focusing on ergonomic design, and it was created as a symbolic design that will change the play of VR games.

Meanwhile, SIE plans to continue to provide additional information on next-generation VR for PS5.
