Son Heung-min (Tottenham), who is active in the English Professional Football Premier League (EPL), was selected as the best Asian player in 2020.

On the 1st (local time), the International Federation of Soccer Statistical Statistics (IFFHS) selected Son Heung-min as the best player in the Asian Football Federation (AFC) member countries by announcing the best male and female players by continent for 2020.

They beat Iran’s Sardar Azmun (Zenit) and Japan’s Minamino Takumi (Liverpool).

Son Heung-min led the attack on Tottenham last year with 22 goals and 10 assists in the EPL, UEFA Champions League, and Europa League. He has scored 11 goals in the league this season and is tied for second in the scoring category.

At the International Football Federation (FIFA) Football Awards, he was awarded the Puskas Award for the most beautiful goal every year.

IFFHS said of Son Heung-min, “It was the first Asian player to score 50 goals in EPL, and for the second time following legend Cha Bum-geun in the 1980s, we scored 100 goals on the European stage.

He introduced Son Heung-min in detail from birth to joining Hamburg, Germany, and said, “Today he is considered the best Asian player in European football history.”

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) was named Player of the Year. Lewandowski was previously awarded the FIFA Player of the Year.
