A soldier who assaulted two female guests in their twenties who had fallen asleep on the outer wall of the guest house was sentenced to prison.

Incheon District Court’s Bucheon Branch 1st Criminal Division (Judge Im Hae-ji) announced on the 10th that he sentenced Mr. A (21) to three years in prison for violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, etc.

In addition, it also ordered a four-year limit on employment at institutions related to children and adolescents and welfare facilities for the disabled, as well as completing a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program.

Mr. A walked through a window at a guest house in Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do at 4:30 a.m. on January 26, and went to the room next door. He was accused of assault, touching his butt and so on.

Mr. A was a soldier, and while staying at this guesthouse at the time, he met B and C at the party room. Afterwards, he decided to harass Mr. B and the like, and rode the outer wall to the next room where Mr. B and others were staying using the fire escape rope provided in the room where he was staying.

Afterwards, it was investigated that Mr. A entered the room where Mr. B and others were staying through an open window and harassed Mr. B, who was asleep, and so on.

The judge said, “In order to assault the first victims that I saw at the guesthouse on the day as a soldier, the crime was very bad in light of the techniques and procedures of the crime by riding the outer wall of the building and committing the crime.” He said that he must have been punished according to his guilt as he must have felt trauma, pain, and fear at the crime of the unsuccessful defendant.

He said, “However, the sentence was decided in consideration of the fact that it agreed with one victim and acknowledged all the crimes, and that the defendant had no criminal history.”
