Solar Connect announced on the 26th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Parking Industry Association (CEO Soon-mo Choi) for building renewable energy power generation facilities utilizing parking lots.

Solar Connect and the Parking Industry Association plan to supply solar power to domestic parking towers and parking lots through this MOU. The Parking Industry Association shares information on parking facilities that can utilize space, and Solar Connect is in charge of supplying renewable energy such as photovoltaic licenses and financing, EPC (design, procurement, and construction), and management and operation. Along with this, we are seeking additional business opportunities such as the demand resource (DR) business and RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%) implementation.

Solar Connect explained that parking lot solar power does not require a separate space by using idle land and has the advantage of efficiently utilizing land. In addition, he said that additional profits from solar power generation can be expected by looking at the effect of a awning that blocks sunlight or rain in the parking lot.

Solar Connect and the Parking Industry Association are currently considering installing solar power for parking lots in the Gyeongbuk area, and are planning to gradually expand the scope to the whole country.

Tae-ho Kim, director of Solar Connect, said, “Solar power using idle land such as parking lots is one of the core businesses of the Green New Deal and the 2050 carbon neutral policy.” It will be able to arouse vitality,” he said.
