【Today News Reporter Kim Hyo-in】 Three courier companies including CJ Logistics, Hanjin, and Lotte Global Logistics are trying to put 6,000 people into sorting parcels as part of countermeasures against overworked courier drivers, while the Federation of Courier Agents said that there was no agreement on the cost-sharing of the sorting staff. They argued for invalidity of the labor-management agreement.

CJ Logistics, Lotte, Hanjin, and Rosen, etc., at a press conference in front of the Yeouido Parliament Building on the morning of the 4th, held a press conference in front of the Yeouido Parliament Building and said, “It will recognize the agreement between the social consensus organization and the parcel service union (overworked labor countermeasure committee). I can’t,” he said, and announced that he would stop the collection indefinitely.

Earlier last year, as more than 10 courier workers estimated deaths due to overwork and the working environment of courier workers emerged as a social problem, the labor community condemned and urged countermeasures to be taken against the unfair behavior and mischief of large couriers.

Accordingly, parcel service providers, courier workers, and courier agencies participated in the’Social Consensus Organization for Countermeasures for Overworked Parcel Workers’ as members of the Integrated Logistics Association, Overworked Countermeasure Committee, and Agency Association, respectively.

After announcing the strike, the first agreement was signed on the 21st of last month, but the second agreement was held on the 28th when a difference in positions broke out over the specific timing and method of personnel input.

According to the result of the agreement, the strike was withdrawn, and the three courier companies have completed the input of courier sorting personnel. CJ Logistics has 4,000 people, and Hanjin and Lotte Global Logistics have 1,000 people each, a total of 6000 people.

The problem was raised in the cost of putting in courier personnel. The agency association argues that the agency is in a situation where the agency is in a situation where the agency is not responsible for all the costs incurred.

According to the Association of Agents, the further agreement was carried out with only the social consensus body and the Overworked Deaths Countermeasure Committee. As the agreement was reached with the opinions of the agency and courier workers excluded, a review is urged.

An official of the Agency Association said, “The social agreement that disregarded the opinions of agencies and most courier workers is invalid.” “The 4 courier agencies cannot admit this additional agreement ignoring the process and procedure, and urge a full review at the origin.” Said.

He added, “While the agency’s opinion is not reflected, we clearly warn that the social consensus body is responsible for all subsequent responsibilities.” If the request for invalidation of the agreement is not accepted, he will not attend the second meeting of the social consensus organization scheduled for the 17th and I will refuse.”

“The courier union should no longer cause disappointment to the public with the unscrupulous act of declaring a strike as hostage for customer goods in advance of a special holiday every year,” he said. “Apologize to and ask for any further agreements to be returned to the origin.”
