About 2,000 years ago, a street eatery used by the ancient Romans in Pompeii, Italy, was unearthed in almost intact form.

In particular, the frescoes painted on the sales stand and the presumed firepit were vividly depicted, including ducks, chickens, and dogs. A painting of a nymph riding a seahorse (a generic term for a fairy in Greek and Roman mythology) and a gladiator was also found.
The remains of duck bones, pork, fish, snails, and goats cooked 2,000 years ago remain in the pots excavated here. Mashed fava beans, which are said to have been used to change the taste of wine, also came out.
“It’s an amazing discovery. This is the first time we’ve unearthed an entire restaurant,” said Massimo Osana, chairman of the Pompeii Archaeological Park, told ANSA news agency that meaning. .
The excavation team also found the remains of several people, including a man in his 50s. “It may appear that the restaurant was abandoned after the volcanic eruption,” said Osana. “It is possible that the oldest person was left behind and died. Said.
