An American man in his thirties who became a millionaire with Tesla shares has been envied by people all over the world after revealing that he has quit the company.

On the 8th, Jason DeVoldt, who worked as a software engineer at Amazon, told his Twitter account that he decided to retire from work at the age of 39. The 8th, when DeVoldt suggested his retirement, was the day when Tesla shares surpassed 882.5 (approximately 960,000 won) dollars a week, exceeding a record high.

The BBC said, “In the United States, a new word for Tesla-naire, which means a person who became a millionaire with Tesla stocks like Debolt, has also appeared.”

DeVoldt bought Tesla shares in 2013, and he steadily bought Tesla shares after purchasing 2,500 shares for $7.5 per share (about 8,000 won). DeVoldt owns about 15,000 Tesla shares, and its current value is $11,944,889 (about 11.3 billion won).

“I bought a Tesla Model S in 2013, took a tour of the factory, and started investing in Tesla,” DeVoldt said in an interview asking the secret of the investment. The average purchase price of his Tesla stock is $58 (63,000 won).

“Tesla is still in its infancy, and in the next 50 years it may not be possible to see a company like Tesla,” said DeVoldt.

Tesla’s share price has risen more than 700% in 2020 alone, making Tesla the most valuable automaker in the world. Thanks to this, Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, surpassed Jeff Bezos, Warren Buffett, and Bill Gates to become the richest in the world.
