It is expected to be released as early as next month according to the review schedule of the Ministry of Science and ICT.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 29th, SK Telecom finished reporting the terms and conditions (fees and terms of use) for launching a new rate plan this afternoon.
An official from the Ministry of Science and ICT said, “SK Telecom applied for a new rate plan.”
According to the industry, the new plan reported by SK Telecom on this day is a 5G·LTE online subscription-only plan that is 30% cheaper than the existing plan. The 55,000 won 5G plan was lowered to 30,000 won and the 75,000 won plan was lowered to 50,000 won.
Currently, SK Telecom’s 5G plan is 125,000 won (unlimited data), 89,000 won (unlimited data), 75,000 won (unlimited 5Mbps speed control when 200GB is exhausted), 55,000 won (unlimited 1Mbps speed control when 9GB is exhausted) ) Youth plan is 45,000 won (unlimited 1Mbps speed control when 9GB is exhausted). With the launch of an online-only plan, the range of user choices is expected to be wider, ranging from KRW 30,000 to KRW 50,000.
In particular, this rate plan is the first rate plan after the reservation report system was implemented. The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to promptly review and deal with whether it hinders user interests and fair competition.
An official from the Ministry of Science and ICT said, “We will decide within 15 days, which is the deadline for examination in accordance with the relevant laws.”
