SK innovation[096770]Announced on the 6th that the separation membrane patent litigation filed by LG Energy Solutions has been ending with its own victory in more than 10 years since it started in Korea.
SK Innovation won the first separator patent lawsuit filed by LG Energy Solutions in Korea in 2011. Also, at the time, the two sides agreed that’the same case will not be contested at home and abroad for the next 10 years’.
LG Energy Solutions and SK Innovation also filed additional patent infringement against each other in the course of a lawsuit for infringement of trade secrets in the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in 2019.
SK insisted on patent invalidation or infringement to ITC based on its experience in drawing an invalid judgment in a Korean lawsuit against a separator patent. Recently, the ITC made a preliminary decision of three invalid and one non-infringing patent out of four litigation patents.
In response to the favorable preliminary decision, SK Innovation said, “It has been recognized that SK’s technology is an independent technology different from LG’s patent.” It was argued that it was likely to have come out.
SK Innovation continued, “The patent litigation filed by LG is’catching the ankle’.” Said.
