The family who did the LPGA Tour early 2021 is sweeping. Nelly Coda (23, USA) reached the top of the Gainbridge LPGA, which ended at Lake Nona Golf Course in Orlando, Florida, USA on the 1st (Korean time). With a total of 16 under par, they beat Lydia High and Lexy Thompson by three strokes.
His older sister, Jessica Coda, 28, won the opening game this season. I took all the championships of the two LPGA Tour tournaments held in 2021 in one family. The sisters have won the LPGA in a row, 21 years after the Circle K championship and register ping of Annaka Shalotta Sorenstam (Sweden) in March 2000. Sister Coda said, “It’s great to follow in the footsteps of Sister Sorenstam.”
Among the Sorrenstam sisters, her older sister, Annaka, was overwhelmingly superior, but her younger brother was ahead of the Koda sisters. As of the 1st, Nelly Coda is ranked 4th in the world ranking and Jessica Coda is 17th. After finishing third in the opening game, Nelly won the tournament and rose to the top of the 2021 prize money rankings and Player of the Year rankings.
After overcoming a back injury last year, Coda was again on the list of winners. “No athlete has no pain. Everyone has to live with this pain and overcome it. It was very difficult for the past 6 months, but it was helpful to try to make my body healthy.” Coda also showed a finishing ability to win the championships when they started playing as the lead in the final round. Nelly Coda is expected to rise to third place in the rankings, overtaking Park Inbi by winning the 1st. There is a possibility that it will be an opponent of Korea’s Ko Jin-young and Kim Se-young, who are ranked 1st and 2nd in the rankings.

Coda is a sports family. His father, Petr Koda, was a Czech national who won the Australian Open, a tennis grand slam competition in 1998. Mother Reina Lyktova participated in the 1988 Seoul Olympics as Czechoslovak tennis representative. Sebastian Coda, his younger brother, advanced to the fourth round of the French Open last year at 92nd in the ATP rankings.
Koda, who received the championship cup while the family was watching, said, “It was the first time I won the championship in front of my parents, and today the shot condition was bad, so I was stressed, but I won the championship.” Nelly Coda has won Taiwan and Australia, but this is the first time she has won the US.
Ko Jin-young, the first in the world rankings, is 4th in a total of 11 under par, and Jeon In-ji, Choi Woon-jung and Shin Ji-eun are tied for 8 under par. Kim Se-young is a tie for 24th in the 4-under par. Kim Se-young, who was sluggish, captured 7 birdies in 9 holes starting from the 1st hole in his second half and recorded the 6-under-par daily best.
Annika Sorenstam (51, Sweden), who played in 13 years, is 74th, the lowest among players who have passed the cut with a 13 over par. Sorenstam said, “Thank you for being able to compete and pass the cut.” Sorenstam said he would not participate in any other competitions other than the Senior US Open.
