The KBO League subscription fee of Shinsegae Team was decided at 6 billion won.
The Korea Baseball Commission (KBO) said on the 5th, “After comprehensively reviewing changes in the value of the club, the membership fee of the Shinsegae Team was decided at 6 billion won.” I promised to do it,” he added.
KBO, which held a written meeting of the club owners on this day, unanimously approved the transfer of membership to Shinsegae.
KBO held a board meeting earlier on the 2nd, deliberated on the application for approval of the transfer of membership of SK Wyverns and Shinsegae, and reviewed Shinsegae’s club operation plan and presented it to the general meeting.
KBO decided that an urgent decision was necessary for the normal participation of Shinsegae’s pilot games and regular season, and decided to decide in writing a general meeting of the owners. On this day, the final approval was unanimous and the transfer of the club to Shinsegae was completed.
The subscription fee was decided at 6 billion won based on a comparative review with past cases, changes in club value, league expansion, and changes in the number of spectators. It was the only case that KIA paid 3 billion won when it took over Haitai in 2001 that the acquisition fee was imposed by a club that was not the foundation.
SK, which had transferred the club to Shinsegae, said goodbye to the KBO League, but expressed a donation plan of 2.5 billion won in hopes of contributing to the development of Korean baseball with a deep love for baseball. SK is the first in the history of the KBO League to give up the club and make a donation for baseball.
