The baseball world is interested in the name of the new baseball team that Shinsegae Group will decide instead of SK Wyverns. Shinsegae Group placed the word’electros’ in the name candidates for the baseball team and applied for a related trademark application. There is also a possibility that the club name’SSG Electros’ will become a reality.

Shinsegae Group announced on February 1, “In the process of preparing for the naming of the baseball team, it has applied for a trademark right for’Electros’, which is deemed necessary to secure trademark rights among various candidates currently being discussed.”

On January 26, Shinsegae Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SK Telecom, the parent company of SK Wyverns, to acquire and sell the baseball team. Shinsegae Group is struggling with the name of the new baseball team to use instead of SK Wyverns. ‘Electros’, which is related to Electromart, a brand belonging to Shinsegae Group E-Mart, has also become a candidate for a new baseball team name. ‘Electroman’, a character representing Electromart, is also interested in whether it will become the club’s mascot.

An official from Shinsegae Group said in a call with Msple News on the 1st, “We are currently in the process of reviewing several candidates for the club names. There are words that do not have trademark rights, so they applied for a trademark application for’Electros’ in order to preempt. ‘SSG Electros’ is also one of the candidates for the club’s name, but there is no final decision.”

Shinsegae Group plans to sign a main contract for the acquisition of SK Wyverns on February 23rd. Considering that the schedule for the demonstration game starts from March 20th, it is highly likely that Shinsegae Group will announce the club’s name, emblem, and uniform before and after the main contract.

A previous official said, “There is currently no plan to announce the name or uniform of the club on the 23rd, the scheduled date for signing the main contract.
