Shinsegae Hanyu Island is’Deoks of Choo Shin-soo’… “I got an autograph in 2010.”

Shinsegae E-Mart Baseball Team’s outfielder Hanyu Island (32) is ‘Deokhu Choo’.

Hanyu Island recently met with reporters at the Shinsegae E-Mart Baseball Club Spring Camp in Seogwipo, Jeju-do, and released an anecdote with Shin-soo Choo (39) while attending Gyeongseongjae in 2010. Hanyuseom said, “When I was in my third year in college, the Guangzhou Asian Games team trained at Sajik Baseball Stadium. Kyungsung University coach Yoon Young-hwan joined the national team coach at the time. I begged coach Yun to work as a training assistant and helped train the national team players.”

Choo Shin-soo, who is reflected in Hanyu Island, is truly a’different grade’ player. Hanyuseom said, “I saw Choo Shin-soo hitting while picking up the ball in the outfield, and I thought that I could hit it like that. I remembered that the blow was beautiful.” He said, “Senior Choo Shin-soo was like a Westerner. The appearance of the senior’s body care was also different. It was impressive to see him continuing to stretch and do reinforcement exercises alone even in the locker room.” At the same time, he smiled, saying, “I can’t remember (Chu) Shin Soo-hyung, but I got an autograph after training at the time.”

The confluence of Choo Shin-soo makes Hanyu Island exciting. Particularly, playing in the same team as the seniors I longed for would be a great motivation for Hanyu Island. Hanyu Island said, “If Shin Soo-hyung comes, it will be built-in. The outfield competition has become really fierce. Rather than being agitated, good opportunities will come if you do your part and prepare for the season well. I want to make good results this year.”

Hanyu Island, which recently changed its name from’Dongmin’ to’Yooseom (Suyuyu(萸), Chimil Island(暹)), said, “I want to play baseball properly after leaving my grades, but it was very difficult mentally because the injury was repeated. I made a big decision to play baseball in a healthy way.”

Here, Hanyu Island put down the number 62, which was sweet from the time he joined, and put the number 35 on his back from this year. I had a desire to change my back number two or three years ago, but this time, I changed it. I had the best grades in the 2018 season, but I want to do it only then.”
