The movie’Minari’, which is about to be released on the 3rd, rose to the top of the real-time reservation rate thanks to the news of winning the Golden Globe Best Foreign Language Film Award.

According to the integrated computer network of the Film Promotion Commission on the 2nd, Minari is recording a 31.4% advance sale rate as of the morning of the 2nd. The 2nd place was the Disney animation’Raya and the Last Dragon’ (15.9%), which will be released on the 4th, and the 3rd place was the Japanese animation’Theatrical Edition Blade of the Extinction: Infinite Train’ (11.3%).

Minari is a movie about the immigration and settlement of Korean families in the 1980s. The director is Korean-American director Isak Jeong (Lee Isaac Jung), and the production and distribution of plans B and A24 of the United States were in charge. The couple, Jacob and Monica, who try to settle in Arkansas in the United States, are played by Stephen Yeon and Han Ye-ri, respectively, and Yun Ye-jeong plays the role of Monica’s mother who comes to the United States from Korea to help them. Jacob’s Monica’s lovely daughter, Anne, and the naughty son, David, were well-groomed by Noel Kate Jo and Alan Kim.

Minari won awards at world-renowned film festivals, starting with the Jury Awards at the Sundance Film Festival last year, and also won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the Golden Globe held on the 28th (local time) last month. However, according to the rules of the Golden Globe Awards, more than 50% of the language of the work was not English, so it was classified as a foreign language film, and it was controversial that it was not able to compete in the field of work.

However, despite this controversy, director Jung smiled brightly through the video connection after the announcement of the winners on this day and expressed his gratitude to actors and staff, production and distribution companies, and family members such as Stephen Yeon, Han Ye-ri, Yoon Yeo-jung, Alan Kim, and Noel Kate Jo.

In addition, he introduced, “Minari is a story of a family trying to speak in their own language,” and “It is a language of heart deeper than the American language or any other foreign language.” Director Jung said, “I try to learn the language myself, and I try to pass it on. May each other learn to speak in this language of love. In particular, I hope so this year.”
