Seoul City Superintendent Cho Hee-yeon sets the goal of this year’s education to resolve gender polarization and conducts customized remote classes. The intention is to prevent the’digital gap’ of each family from leading to the gender gap due to the expanded remote class due to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) epidemic. Develop high-quality content and class models, and run’Lanson Night School’ after school.

Superintendent Cho said at a New Year’s press conference on the 5th, “Corona 19 has revealed the very top of our education in a revolutionary way. In particular, the’learning middle layer’, which means sexual median, has become thinner. We will do our best to restore the thinned middle floor.”

First of all, a’three-stage learning safety net’ system that connects classrooms, schools, and villages is established to support students with poor basic education. Superintendent Cho said, “The teacher first evaluates and manages the student’s basic education in the classroom, and if it is difficult to apply only with the efforts of the teacher, the secondary school provides individualized support through the’Basic Education Multi-Support Team’. If it is not enough, we provide integrated support for the target students through the village-level learning help center.”

The main goal is’middle 1′. Superintendent Cho said, “The middle school stage is a time when the learning gap between students is large and the content of learning is rapidly becoming difficult.” I will organize free semester activities.”

Specifically, we operate an intensive elementary and middle school year system, and newly assign basic education cooperative instructors to all classes in the first and second grades of public elementary schools and the first grades of middle school. Partner instructors are assigned to subject classes for 2 hours per week in Korean for first graders, two hours per week for math for second graders, and two hours per week for math and English for middle school students to help students study. In schools where students from low-income families are concentrated, the annual funding of 14.4 billion won is provided to provide intensive support for educational welfare professionals and budgets.

It also operates a’lanseon night school’ that helps college students study middle school students using an interactive video system. One university student teaches three middle school students, and the results are evaluated and will be expanded to all elementary, middle and high schools. Superintendent Cho said, “It is expected that the on-off related classes will continue until at least the first half of this year. “We will continue to implement 1:1 customized mentoring support projects using university students, retired teachers, and cooperative instructors.”
