Jung Joon-young, a best friend of the group Big Bang’s former member of Seungri’s Burning Sun, stands as a witness.
On the morning of the 26th, at the General Military Court of the Ground Operations Command in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, the 11th trial will be held on allegations of suspicion of triumphant prostitution, embezzlement, and violation of the Special Police Act.
Seungri is accused of up to nine charges including prostitution, prostitution mediation, sexual violence punishment law, specific economic crimes aggravated punishment (embezzlement), business embezzlement, food sanitation law, habitual gambling, violation of the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act, and special violence teachers.
Jung Joon-young, the best friend of Seungri’s entertainment industry, will attend the trial on this day as a witness. Jung Joon-young is a member of the Kakao Talk group chat room, the so-called’Burning Sun’ group chat room, with Seungri, former member of FT Island Choi Jong-hoon, and Yu In-seok, former representative of Yuri Holdings.
Initially, Jung Joon-young was asked to attend the 3rd trial of Seungri on November 19 last year, but was not present due to poor health, such as weakness in mind and body. He is scheduled to work in newspapers related to prostitution mediation, prostitution, and special assault teacher charges.
Seungri was picked up as a key figure in the club Burning Sun incident in February 2019 and was handed over to trial in January last year. However, before the full-scale trial, the case was transferred to a military trial as they joined the Cheorwon 6th Division last year. Seungri only admits to the violation of the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act among a number of charges, and denies most of the charges.
At the 10th trial, the military prosecutors even revealed the situation of the gang involvement, but the Seungri’s lawyer denied the charges of special assault teachers.
Meanwhile, Jung Joon-young is living in prison for sexual assault and illegal filming. He recorded a video of having sex with women in a chat room where celebrities participated from the end of 2015, along with charges of intoxicating women in Daegu in March of the same year as in Hongcheon, Gangwon in January 2016 with members of group chat room such as Choi Jong-hoon. He was sentenced to five years in prison at an appeal in September last year on charges of distributing illegal filmings, including transmitting several times.
