Separate transparent PET bottles at apartments nationwide from the day after tomorrow… Hemp distribution

The Ministry of Environment announced on the 23rd that it has implemented a plan to separate and dispose of transparent PET bottles from apartment houses (apartments) across the country from the 25th, while providing multilateral support for this system to be established smoothly.

The Ministry of Environment has distributed over 50,000 sacks that can separately contain transparent plastic bottles to apartments and related companies nationwide.

It is expected to provide 10,000 copies this month and 30,000 additional copies at the beginning of next year.

By January of next year, it was decided to check whether the sacks were properly installed at the site for separate discharge.

The Ministry of Environment has been operating a joint situation group with related organizations since last month to check whether the separate separation system for transparent PET bottles is well implemented.

The system will be settled until next June and will check the emission situation by local government every month to see if there is any improvement.

The overall improvement of the recycling system will also be promoted so that transparent PET bottles can be produced with high-quality recycled PET.

Transparent PET bottles discharged from apartments are recycled through collection companies, sorting companies, and recycling companies, and the Ministry of Environment also supports the project to improve facilities so that screening and recycling companies can manage transparent PET bottles separately.

There is also a plan to promote the recycling of transparent PET bottles.

By cooperating with the industry that produces transparent PET bottles or produces raw materials for PET bottles, the company decided to make more use of recycled raw materials and to pioneer a market where recycled raw materials can be directly exported overseas.

Companies that use recycled materials are also planning to reduce producer-responsible recycling contributions and expand the types of industries and products that use recycled materials.

It has also decided to diversify the use of transparent PET bottles for recycling, including clothing, bags, and shoes.

Through this policy, the Ministry of Environment plans to replace imported recycled PET bottles by expanding the recycled amount of high-quality recycled PET bottles from 28,000 tons per year (11% of the total recycled amount of 240,000 tons) last year to more than 100,000 tons in 2022.

We are also preparing to introduce a certification system that can indicate on products whether or not recycled raw materials are used.

Hong Dong-gon, the Ministry of Environment’s Resource Circulation Policy Officer, said, “We will foster the recycling industry to lead the global expansion of the renewable raw material market through the smooth establishment of separate and separate disposal of transparent PET bottles in apartment houses nationwide.”
