Seoul reorganizes 7,000'public service reservations'… Non-face-to-face fee reduction

[아시아경제 임철영 기자] The Seoul Metropolitan Government will reorganize the’Public Service Reservation’ website and reservation service to expand significantly. The Public Service Reservation website is an integrated platform that makes online reservations and payments for public services provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, affiliated agencies, and 25 autonomous districts.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 15th, a new public service reservation function will be established on the Kakao Talk artificial intelligence consultant chatbot’Seoul Talk’. By simply entering the desired information in the chat window, you can reserve a total of 7,000 public services, from sports facilities operated by Seoul City to rental facilities, cultural and educational programs, and medical treatment at municipal hospitals.

The new public service reservation will be ▲ starting a reservation and consultation for Kakao Talk chatbot’Seoul Talk’ ▲ reorganizing the website for optimized smartphone environment ▲ introducing a non-face-to-face verification subject to reduction of usage fees based on blockchain.

The’Seoul Talk’ reservation service has been newly established so that anyone who is not a member of the public service reservation website can reserve public services with Kakao Talk. As it is a platform used by many domestic smartphone users, the reservation process for public services is expected to be greatly simplified. In particular, since the chatbot reservation is verified with the mobile phone number subscribed to KakaoTalk, you can make a reservation immediately after the first user authentication without additional authentication.

The homepage is also reorganized into an environment optimized for smartphones to reflect the increasing trend of smartphone reservations, and the usage procedures such as login and payment are also simplified. It also adds user-customized menus such as location-based services and interest information settings. New support is also provided for communication services for the elderly and the disabled, such as a shortcut to the’Summary Center’ that relays communication through text and video.

It also introduces’non-face-to-face qualification verification’ based on blockchain technology. Currently, basic living recipients, persons with disabilities, and persons of national merit are eligible to receive fee reduction benefits when using public facilities, but there is an inconvenience of having to obtain relevant documents and submit them when using the service.

‘Non-face-to-face qualification verification’ is a method in which a total of 9 types of supporting documents can be digitally submitted instead of paper documents if a person subject to reduction of public facility usage fees authenticates himself on the website. Personal information protection is also reinforced because it is a blockchain technology that does not allow forgery and alteration of data.

Lee Won-mok, Seoul’s Smart City Policy Officer, said, “Citizens are facing changes in the daily lives of citizens due to Corona 19 along with the huge industrial ecosystem change called the 4th Industrial Revolution.” We will improve the service by applying the latest smart technology in the right place so that you can conveniently reserve and use it. We will continue to expand the available facilities and cultural contents.”
