In Seoul and Busan, where the April by-elections are held, the results of a public opinion poll that greatly outperformed the Democratic Party came out on the 8th.

As a result of a survey of 2,519 people aged 18 and over nationwide on the 1st to 5th by Real Meter commissioned by YTN, the support rate of the people of Seoul increased by 6.3 percentage points to 35.2%. The Democratic Party fell 7.8 percentage points to 25.7%.

As a result, the gap between the two parties’ approval ratings in Seoul was 9.5 percentage points, out of the margin of error (±2.0 percentage points in the 95% confidence level).

Realmeter analyzed that “the impeachment of the passport’s chief judge Im Seong-geun and the false explanation of Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo would have had an impact.”

In particular, in the PK region including Busan, the opposition party is again widening the gap with the ruling party. It is interpreted that the influence of Kim Jong-in’s support for the construction of a new airport by visiting Gadeokdo Island in Busan, etc., was affected.

In Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, the approval rating of the people increased by 4.0 percentage points to 39.6%, and the approval rating for the Democratic Party fell 9.3 percentage points to 24.4%, respectively. The approval rating gap widened by more than 15 percentage points.

President Moon Jae-in’s approval rating (positive evaluation) was 39.3%, down 3.2 percentage points from a week ago.

The negative evaluation was 56.3%, up 3.5 percentage points. Don’t know or answer 4.4%. The difference between the positive and negative evaluations is 17.0%, which is outside the range of error.
