It was confirmed on the 31st that Ahn Chul-soo, the representative of the National Assembly Party, prevailed in the’virtual confrontation’, the influential player in the Seoul mayor’s by-election in April next year.
As a result of a survey conducted by the polling company Jowon C&I by the Sisa Journal, CEO Ahn came out as a single candidate for the opposition, and when Minister Park Young-sun, Minister of Small and Medium Venture Businesses, joined the Democratic Party candidate and confronted with the Democratic Party, CEO Ahn ranked Minister Park 42.1% vs. 36.8%. It was found to be 5.3 percentage points ahead.
If the opposition is unified with former lawmaker Na Kyung-won instead of Ahn, the rankings of female and night candidates will be reversed. Secretary Park was found to be 37.5% and former lawmaker 32.9%, indicating that Park was dominant. Even in the case of a’three-way confrontation’ that does not unify the candidates in the opposition, 35.5% of Park was counted, 26.0% of Ahn’s, and 19.4% of former lawmakers Na were surveyed, indicating that Park has the upper hand.
Among the respondents to this survey, the opposition party’s supporters chose Ahn as a candidate for the mayor of Seoul (39.6%). 18.8% of the respondents chose former lawmakers as the right person, and 15.6% said Oh Se-hoon, former mayor of Seoul.
The approval rating of the ruling party’s support by candidate was the highest at 36.3%. Minister Park was followed by Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae (21.7%), Rep. Park Ju-min (18.6%), and Rep. Sang-ho Woo (12.4%).
The survey was conducted on the 26th-27th of the past, targeting 1003 citizens of Seoul over the age of 18. The margin of error is within ±3.1% of the 95% confidence level. For more information, please refer to the website of the Central Election Survey Deliberation Committee.
