With the metropolitan area generally cloudy, snow started to blow in Seoul and inland Gyeonggi from the morning of the 16th.

According to the Meteorological Administration, as of 9 am on the 16th, it is snowing weakly in Incheon and the west coast of Gyeonggi, including Incheon International Airport.

Estimated snowfall is 1 to 3 cm in Seoul, Incheon, and northern Gyeonggi, and 2 to 7 cm in southern Gyeonggi and the west sea.

Seohae 5do, including Baengnyeongdo, are piled up as snow falls. As of 9 a.m. on Baengnyeongdo, the snowfall is 0.4cm.

The Meteorological Administration said, “The developed snow cloud belt created by cyclone traveling southeast near Bohai Bay, China, is located on the west sea and is falling at a speed of about 40 km per hour.” “There may be places where there is weak snow or snow from the northwestern region of Gyeonggi including Seoul as it flows in.”

As it is expected that up to 3cm of snow will accumulate in Seoul and other metropolitan areas, the city of Seoul has entered the first stage of the snow removal system.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will enter the first stage emergency work system from 8 am on the day.

The city plans to deploy snow removal vehicles and equipment forward, detect signs of snowfall through a closed circuit TV (CCTV) installed on the snow movement path in the West Sea region, and spray snow removal agent from the vulnerable level in advance.
