Completion of 94kW solar power plant at the southern end of Jamsil Railway Bridge and commencement of commercial operation
Expect to expand preemptive supply for’Carbon Neutral 2050·Solar City Seoul’
[천지일보=김빛이나 기자] The Seoul Energy Corporation (CEO Kim Joong-sik) announced on the 14th that it built a solar power plant on the closed road of Olympic Highway and put on new clothes.
The KTO held a signboard ceremony on the 14th to announce the completion of a 94kW solar power plant on the closed road of Olympic Highway, located at the southern end of the Jamsil Railway Bridge in Sincheon-dong, Songpa-gu, and commencement of commercial operation.
The signing ceremony for the photovoltaic power plant at Olympic Highway was held with a minimum number of personnel, including the head of the new and renewable energy headquarters Cho Bok-hyun, to prevent the recent Corona 19 infection.
The Olympic-daero solar power plant completed this time is a facility that produces 120,000 kWh of electricity with an amount of electricity that about 33 households can use for more than a year.
In particular, this is an extension of the photovoltaic business that utilizes road infrastructure, adding meaning to the active use of idle sites in Seoul by utilizing the closed roads of Olympic Highway, where ordinary vehicles do not pass.
Prior to this, the KTO successfully completed four solar power plants in North Riverside Road using road facilities.
Bok-Hyun Cho, head of the New Renewable Energy Headquarters, said at the signing ceremony, “The Corporation will make more efforts to present an urban solar model by supplying solar power using road infrastructure that only cities have.”
Meanwhile, as the government recently announced its vision of’carbon neutral 2050′, the photovoltaic power generation business using idle land is attracting attention. In order to realize Seoul’s ‘2022 Solar City, Seoul’ policy, the KTO has preemptively carried out a solar power generation project on an idle site, and plans to expand further in the future.
