It was found on the 8th that the approval ratings of the people are far ahead of the Democratic Party in Seoul and Busan, where the mayoral by-elections are held in April. In evaluating the performance of state affairs for President Moon Jae-in, the number of negative evaluations increased compared to the previous survey.

Real Meter, commissioned by YTN, surveyed 2519 people over the age of 18 nationwide on the 1st to 5th, and the power of the people was counted as 35.2% in the party approval rate in Seoul announced that day. The Democratic Party was 25.7%. The approval rating of the people’s strength rose 6.3 percentage points from the last survey (the fourth week of January), and the Democratic Party fell 7.8 percentage points. The gap between the two parties’ Seoul approval rating is 9.5 percentage points.

In Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, the approval ratings of the people rose 4.0 percentage points to 39.6%, and the Democratic Party fell 9.3 percentage points to 24.4%. The approval rating gap widened to more than 15 percentage points. In the case of national party approval, the people’s power was 31.8% and the Democratic Party was 30.9%.

Regarding the results of the survey, Real Meter analyzed that the impeachment of the passport’s chief judge Im Seong-geun and the false clarification of Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo would have influenced it.

As a result of President Moon’s approval rating for conducting state affairs, the positive evaluation fell and the negative evaluation rose. Positive evaluation was 39.3%, down 3.2 percentage points from a week ago, and negative evaluation was aggregated to 56.3%, up 3.5 percentage points. The difference between the positive and negative evaluations is 17.0%, which is outside the range of error.

The positive evaluation of President Moon recorded a low of 35.5% in the first week of January, and then increased to 37.9% in the second week of January and 43.0% in the third week of January. In the last week of January, it fell slightly, recording 42.5%. In this survey, it fell back to the 30% level.
