The opening of the Tokyo Olympics, which was postponed by one year due to the coronavirus pandemic, has only four months left.

It is creaking from the torch relay, which should begin 9 days later.

Correspondent Ko Hyeon-seung, Tokyo, covered it.

The Olympic torch, which arrived in Japan in March last year, is scheduled to depart from J Village in Fukushima Prefecture on the 25th, after a year or so.

As the first runner, the women’s national team, who won the 2011 Women’s World Cup, decided to play, three of whom resigned.

Kawasumi, who plays in the U.S. league, already announced that he would not attend last year, but last night, on social media, he once again announced his intention to resign, saying that the corona crisis has not yet been resolved.

Two of the players in the European League have also been unable to decide on the first runners yet, due to restrictions on entry and due to reasons of the game schedule.

Celebrities have also resigned one after another.

Comedian Atsushi Tamura resigned because of a remark from former chairman of the organizing committee Mori, who was controversial over women’s demeanor.

“As a result of various personal thoughts, the torch runner will resign.”

Sota Fujii, the youngest genius and long-term professional knight, and famous idol groups, movie stars, and sports stars of rugby and sumo, etc., said they couldn’t play for reasons such as schedule.

At least 30 people have resigned so far, NHK and others reported.

“(Idol group) Tokio, including everyone, do not know the circumstances of each of the celebrities in detail, but I think their circumstances and intentions should be respected of course.”

It is reported that the Japanese government decided to hold the torch departure event as unattended, and that the Olympic Games Gyeonggi Province was planning to hold it without foreign audiences.

Public opinion is not good, so in the Fuji TV poll, 7 out of 10 people answered that they had no choice but to stop or re-act the Olympics.

Tokyo, the host of the Olympics, has been declaring an emergency for more than two months.

It may be possible to push ahead with hosting the Olympics, but the normal hosting that the Japanese government has always emphasized seems impossible.
