“Let’s catch big tech”… Banks to fight back
Full-scale expansion of life-oriented services

Woori Bank is launching a service that allows you to buy mobile gift certificates from a smartphone app. It has only been a month since I applied for real-life insurance claims. Woori Bank plans to provide a minor account inquiry service.

According to the banknotes on the 21st, Woori Bank will launch a’Woori Zero Pay’ menu in the mobile banking app WON Banking so that all gift certificates sold by Zero Pay can be purchased from the 22nd. Mobile Onnuri gift certificates and regional gift certificates are targeted for sale. Buying a gift certificate from the OneBanking app gives you up to 10% discount. It is also possible to present mobile gift certificates to acquaintances. An official from Woori Bank explained, “The Seoul Office of Education will provide a zero-pay admission reserve in the form of points to freshmen in middle and high schools. You can register and use this in a bank app.”

The fast claim service for real-life insurance, launched by Woori Bank on the 21st of last month, is also rapidly increasing in subscribers. If you use the real-life insurance claim service, you can claim your insurance money from the Woori Bank app without issuing separate documents such as medical certificates or receipts when using major hospitals. Even if it is not an affiliated hospital, insurance money will be incurred by photographing and delivering supporting documents through a mobile phone.

Woori Bank is planning to launch an in-app minor account inquiry service for the first time in the banking sector. An official at Woori Bank said, “Currently, you have to go to the branch with the legal representative confirmation document when checking the account of a minor, but in the future, this inconvenience will be alleviated.” An official from the banking sector said, “Big Tech is providing a variety of services based on the platform, but in the future, we believe that banks can survive only by reinforcing life-style services.”
