The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is receiving applications from the 5th to discover’technologists’ and’technologies’ who will be the protagonists of ‘2021 Industrial Technology Promotion Merit and Korea Technology Awards’, the most prestigious technology award in Korea.
The Ministry of Industry selects and rewards companies and merit every year in order to promote the excellence of our industrial technology and inspire industrial engineers to develop technology.
The award is given in the’Industrial Technology Promotion Merit’ category, which rewards people of merit in technological innovation, and the’Korea Technology Awards’ category, which awards companies and organizations that have contributed to the development of excellent new technologies (new products).
The fields subject to application are technologies in all industrial fields such as automobiles, aviation, semiconductors, information technology (IT), machinery, materials, energy efficiency improvement, and new and renewable energy. These technologies have been successfully commercialized before the 4th of the following month, the deadline for application.
When the application is received, an evaluation committee is formed with experts in each field, and the candidates for the award are determined through strict screening such as requirements review, written evaluation, public verification (twice), on-site evaluation in which the technology is implemented, and presentation evaluation by technology developers.
‘Industrial Technology Promotion Merit’ rewards’technologists’ who have committed to the development of cutting-edge and innovative technologies, creating a foundation for technological innovation, and commercialization of new technologies, with industrial medals, industrial medals, and presidential awards.
The’Technology Awards’ awards the President’s Prize and the Prime Minister’s Prize to’Enterprises and Institutions’ that have developed excellent new technologies and products that have excellent technical performance and have a great ripple effect on domestic industries.
The awards ceremony will be held at the ‘2021 Korea Industrial Technology R&D Competition’ held in November. The winning works will be promoted and displayed as Korea’s representative technology to increase public interest in industrial technology.
