Application and reception of’Industrial Technology Promotion Merit and Korea Technology Awards’
[에너지신문] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will receive applications from the 5th to discover technicians and technologies who will be the protagonists of the ‘2021 Industrial Technology Promotion Merit and Korea Technology Awards’, the most prestigious technology award in Korea.
This award is an annual government award to promote the excellence of domestic industrial technology and to inspire the desire for technology development of industrial engineers. It is presented in the’Korea Technology Awards’ category, which is awarded to companies and institutions.
The fields subject to application are all industrial fields such as automobiles, aviation, semiconductors, information technology (IT), machinery, materials, energy efficiency improvement, and new and renewable energy. These technologies have been successfully commercialized before the application deadline (May 4).
When the application is received, an evaluation committee is formed with experts in each field, and the candidates for the award are determined through strict screening such as requirements review, written evaluation, public verification (twice), on-site evaluation where the technology is implemented, and presentation evaluation by technology developers.
The merit of industrial technology promotion rewards’technologists’ who devoted themselves to the development of cutting-edge and innovative technologies, creating a foundation for technological innovation, and commercialization of new technologies. Awards will be given to’company/institution’ that has developed excellent new technologies and products that have a high ripple effect on the domestic industry in accordance with the President’s Award and the Prime Minister’s Award.
The awards ceremony will be held in November through the ‘2021 Korea Industrial Technology R&D Competition’, and the winners will be promoted and displayed as Korea’s representative technology to increase public interest in industrial technology.
