According to the last poll released on the 2nd before the election, candidate Oh Se-hoon was at least 14 percentage points ahead of Park Young-sun and Democratic Party candidates.
In preparation for the election of Candidate Se-Hoon Oh Se-hoon, the mayor of Seoul City, it is said that he is grasping the’Oh Se-hoon style’, including the business plan at the time, by reading documents 10 years ago.
It is said that the workload of Seoul city officials preparing for the new mayor of Seoul has doubled. This is because we need to prepare a business plan for this year in two versions, the existing version and the ‘Oh Se-hoon version.’
A Seoul official said, “We always prepare two versions at the time of the election, but this time, the opposition party’s (Candidate Se-Hoon Oh) version of the business plan is making’harder’ as the opposition candidate’s approval rate is higher this time.”
This is especially the case in areas where the positions of Candidate Se-hoon Oh and Young-seon Park are contradictory, such as Gwanghwamun Plaza, urban regeneration (residential regeneration), and housing. There are many predictions that if candidate Park Young-sun is elected mayor, the existing business will not be significantly modified, but candidate Oh Se-hoon is highly likely to change plans significantly.
Another Seoul official, Mr. B, said, “We are studying the pledges carefully so that we can realize the pledges of the two candidates in detail, and we are preparing a business plan for each,” he said. “It is not for nothing to say that public officials have no soul.”
There is also an opinion that the experience of Candidate Se-hoon Oh’s leading Seoul city just before the late Mayor Park Won-soon can be a burden on many employees.
Employees who meet the new mayor after 10 years think they will prepare for a sudden change in the situation if Candidate Se-hoon Oh, who has experience in the mayor of Seoul, is elected. It means that he is grasping his style by looking at documents during his tenure as mayor of Candidate Se-Hoon Oh.
“There are a lot of employees who have met a change for the first time in the past 10 years,” said C. a public official in Seoul. “If Candidate Oh was elected, you can ask or point out what has changed in the past, the present, and the document 10 years ago. I am studying.”
