On the 17th, negotiations for unification between the Mayor of Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and the National Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo were halted again.

The working-level negotiations on both sides continued to negotiate from the morning of that day, but they faced difficulties over the ratio of wired and wireless phone calls in public opinion polls, and eventually could not find a contact point until the end.

Secretary General Chung Yang-seok said at a briefing that afternoon, “I will try to find an agreement by the 18th.”

“The power of the people is the position that they will not avoid the competitiveness survey requested by the National Assembly, but the decision of candidates through a virtual confrontation is a new method, unprecedented, and it is not easy to add up, so I said that it is difficult to accept.” .

“For the accuracy of public opinion polls, we requested that the ratio of wired/wireless, especially fixed-line telephones be reflected, and we waited for an adjustment proposal to the People’s Party of 10%. However, it is not easy to accept them from the People’s Party.” Told.

Earlier, the People’s Power side insisted on including a landline phone survey with a high percentage of conservative responses, and the National Party also insisted on a poll questionnaire questionnaire in the form of a virtual confrontation with the Democratic Party candidate Park Young-seon.

Lee Tae-gyu, Secretary General of the People’s Party, also said, “Because the effective method we value is virtual confrontation, if you respect it, we will accept a plan that includes 10% wireline.” Among the single candidates for the opposition, Oh Se-hoon and Ahn Cheol-soo wrote a clause saying, “Who do you think is more competitive?”

When asked, “Will you actually register each candidate after 9 am on the 18th,” Lee said, “Go then and judge that.”
