While Myanmar’s military government has issued a wanted order for celebrities in their country for encouraging participation in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), a popular model in Myanmar has joined the protests against the coup on the Social Network Service (SNS) and posted articles informing them of this.
Myanmar’s popular model Faing Takkon, who has 1.14 million followers, has been posting posts criticizing the Myanmar military on Instagram and Facebook since the beginning of this month. Until last month, Takkon’s social media had a lot of pictorial photos and photos showing gorgeous everyday life.
However, after reporting the contents of Myanmar’s national adviser Aung San Suu Kyi’s imprisonment on the 1st (local time), Takkon has only delivered news of the protest without posting any pictorials or pictures of model activities. In order to appeal for interest and support to the international community at risk of being repressed, the photos of Myanmar citizens who participated in the protests and the photos they took part in are uploaded.
Takkon writes such as “Save Myanmar (Burma)”, “We want democracy”, “Pray for our leader Aung San Suu Kyi”, “Help Myanmar. We need help”, etc. .
“To protect the people of Myanmar, we need help from many countries”
Takkon appealed to the governments of each country to protect the citizens of Myanmar on the 20th (local time), where the military and police fired live ammunition at the citizens who were protesting against them.
He said, “Today the military terrorized protesters and volunteers holding peaceful demonstrations in Mandalay. They attacked cruelly not only in the protesters, but also in residential areas and fired at ambulances,” he said. “I sincerely ask all governments around the world. Myanmar people. We need the help of many countries to protect the country.”
Myanmar has used his awareness to arrest celebrities who criticize the military or announce protests. On the 17th, the military previously issued arrest warrants for two famous movie stars, three film directors, and one rapper for inciting public officials to participate in the protests. He warned that “people who hide them will also face legal consequences.”
It is known that nearly 500 citizens have been arrested by the military government of Myanmar for protests against the coup to date.
