Justice Party lawmaker Shim Sang-jeong strongly criticized the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Byun Chang-heum over the alleged land speculation by employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). Rep. Shim conveyed the anger of the people and rebuked Minister Byun for resigning. Minister Byeon was unable to provide any special clarifications or answers while the inquiries and criticisms of Congressman continued.

At the General Assembly of the Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Committee held at the National Assembly on the 9th, Shim took issue with Secretary Byeon’s remarks, saying,’LH employees do not seem to have bought the land in advance because they knew the development information.’ Rep. Shim asked, “Have you done an investigation by the staff?” and “Have you been to the dumping area?”, but Minister Byun could not answer.

Rep. Shim said, “Why didn’t you say,’It seems like you didn’t know and invested,’ without even knowing the circumstances of the employees?” He said, “So the people are angry. This is the usual perception of the minister.” .

Rep. Sim continued, “What more would you expect from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, who are not aware of public sentiment and are insensitive to speculation,” he rebuked, saying, “The people are to resign right away. I think the same thing.”

Minister Byun was unable to respond to the questions and reprimands of Congressman. When asked by Rep.
