Galaxy S21 lowered its ransom, expected to sell 28 million units this year

According to the market research firm Counterpoint Research on the 14th, the Galaxy S21 is expected to sell about 28 million units worldwide by the end of this year after its launch on the 29th of this month.

The sales of the Galaxy S20 series launched last year are estimated to have sold about 26 million units over the past year. In other words, the Galaxy S21 is expected to increase sales by about 7-8%. The Galaxy S20 series was sold at a level of 70% compared to the previous game due to the high shipping price and the slowdown in the smartphone market caused by Corona 19.

Samsung Electronics has been throwing the number of matches to expand the sales of the Galaxy S21. For the first time among 5G flagships in Korea, the price of the base model was set at 990,000 won, which is less than 1 million won, and the launch schedule was also one month ahead of the previous year.

However, Samsung Electronics slightly lowered the specifications of the Galaxy S21 series to lower the factory price. Excluding the charger and wired earphones from the basic components, a flat display with FHD+ resolution and 8GB of RAM were applied to the Galaxy S21 basic and plus models.

“Samsung Electronics releases the Galaxy S21 more than a month earlier than usual, and Huawei’s gap due to US sanctions will positively affect sales,” said Lim Soo-jung, a researcher at Counterpoint. It is difficult to expect a large increase due to the extended period,” he predicted.

Samsung Electronics and the three domestic telecommunications companies are looking more positively on their initial earnings. We expect the Galaxy S21 sales this month to be 20% higher than the Galaxy S20 release month.

The domestic launch price of the Galaxy S21 series is 990,9900 won for the Galaxy S21, 1199,000 won for the Galaxy S21 Plus, 1.452,000 won for the Galaxy S21 Ultra 256GB, and 1,599,000 won for the Galaxy S21 Ultra 512GB. Based on the basic Galaxy model, it is about 250,000 won cheaper than the previous one.

The Galaxy S21 is scheduled to be officially released on the 29th, after being released on the 15th, through advance reservations.
