(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Nam-jik Han = The professional baseball Samsung Lions, which introduced the’new annual salary system’ in which players choose the contract structure, has completed a salary contract for the 2021 season.
Samsung said on the 1st, “It has completed an annual salary contract with 55 people who are eligible for renewal in 2021.”
Starting this year, the Samsung club has introduced a’new type incentive system’ that allows players to choose their own contract structure.
Based on the’standard salary’ agreed through negotiations, the player selected one of the’basic type’,’target type’ and’challenge type’.
Athletes who choose the basic type receive the agreed standard annual salary based on the performance system, and there is no additional incentive.
The player who chooses the target type signs an annual salary contract with an amount lowered by 10% from the standard salary, and if he performs well afterwards, he can receive several times more of the deducted amount.
Athletes who choose the challenge type set the’basic annual salary’ from the amount reduced by 20% from the standard salary. If you score above the threshold, you can receive several times more of the deducted 20% as an incentive.
The Samsung club said, “It is the purpose of setting individual goals so that players can feel a sense of accomplishment in the process of achieving them.” It was finally decided.”
Of the 28 athletes subject to the new type incentive system, 7 selected the target type and 6 selected the challenge type. 15 people took the basic form.
